Accessibility

Our commitment to accessible service under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, what this website conforms to, and how to give us feedback or ask for something in another format.

Our commitment

Apex Path Logistiks is committed to providing goods and services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities, and to giving them the same opportunity to use our services as anyone else.

We are committed to meeting the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation made under it.

This website

This site is built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, which meets and exceeds the WCAG 2.0 Level AA standard required by section 14 of the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation.

What that means in practice:

  • Every colour pair used for text meets at least 4.5:1 contrast, and every control boundary and focus indicator meets at least 3:1. The measured ratios are recorded beside the colour definitions in the code.
  • Every interactive element can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, and shows a visible focus indicator when you get there.
  • Every form field has a label that is permanently visible, and every error message is linked to its field so a screen reader announces it.
  • Selections are never signalled by colour alone. A selected option also carries a tick or a mark.
  • Images that carry meaning have alternative text; images that are decorative are hidden from assistive technology rather than described.
  • Content that moves on its own can be paused, and all motion respects your reduced-motion setting.
  • Page structure uses real headings, landmarks and lists, and a skip link takes you past the header to the main content.

Where we know we fall short

We test with keyboard navigation, with a screen reader, and against the WCAG success criteria, but we do not claim the site is perfect. If you hit something that does not work for you, telling us is the fastest way to get it fixed, and we treat those reports as bugs rather than suggestions.

Accessible formats and communication supports

If you need anything on this site, or any document we send you, in another format - large print, plain text, an accessible PDF, or read to you over the phone - ask and we will provide it in a timely way, at no extra cost.

We will consult with you about which format works for you rather than deciding on your behalf.

Assistive devices, service animals and support persons

People are welcome to use their own assistive devices when dealing with us. Service animals and support persons are welcome anywhere our premises are open to the public.

If a barrier prevents someone from using an assistive device on our premises, we will explain it and offer another way to get the same service.

Notice of temporary disruption

If a facility or service that people with disabilities rely on is temporarily unavailable, we will post a notice saying why, how long it is expected to last, and what alternatives are available.

Training

We train staff and anyone who deals with the public on our behalf on the accessibility standards, on the Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities, and on how to interact with people using assistive devices, service animals or support persons. New people are trained as soon as practicable after they start.

Feedback

Tell us how we are doing, or report a barrier, at accessibility@apexlogistiks.com, by phone on +1 (437) 430-1521 during Mon-Fri, 7:00-20:00 ET, or by post to 205 Wynford Drive, North York, Toronto, ON M3C 3P4.

We accept feedback in whatever format suits you, including by phone, by email, in person or in writing.

We acknowledge feedback within 5 business days and tell you what action we are taking. If you would like a reply in a particular format, say so and we will use it.

A copy of this statement and of our multi-year accessibility plan is available on request in an accessible format.
